2008-9 League Play off

Cheltenham Ladies faced Thurrock T-Birds to secure promotion to South 1 on the 17th May 2009, both teams were unbeaten all season, in fact Thurrock had been unbeaten for 2 seasons and were full of confidence. Cheltenham showed that they were a force to be reckoned with and won 28 - 10, a fantastic result! Thanks to all the supporters who came and watched and thanks to all the players who have worked hard this season. Every player who has made an appearance in a Cheltenham shirt this season has contributed to this great season. A BIG thanks to our coaches Craig, Nathan and Dan who have once again given up their spare time to coach us, I think the success this season proves what great coaches you are! Lytchett Minster 7s Winners 2009!

Cheltenham took the title of the Lytchett Minster 7's after numerous impressive performances in the pool which culminated in a fantastic win over defending champions and invitational 7's players the Pirates. Cheltenham first saw off St Austell comfortably and then had the task of facing the Pirates in the pool. After some iffy refereeing it looked as if the Pirates were going to overturn the ladies, but some determined play and great defence saw us win by one try. The pool was then won after beating Dorchester. The quarters and semi's saw wins against Marjons and old rivals Supermarines. Then predictably it was the Pirates we had to face again in the final. Cheltenham showed the same resilience and grit in defence which saw them win first time around, and then with class in attack the pirates never looked like winning! The final score was 19-7 which meant the long trip was well worth it! Well done to all the girls who played.

TRAINING

Training is on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7pm at the Prince of Wales Stadium.
